Traditional Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. These points have been mapped by the Chinese over a period of three thousand years. Recently, electromagnetic research has confirmed their locations.

The World Health Organization has said that acupuncture is suitable for treating the following:

  • Ear, Nose, and Throat Disorders – Toothaches, pain after tooth extraction, earaches, sinus inflammation, nasal inflammation, or dryness.
  • Respiratory Disorders – Uncomplicated bronchial asthma in children or adults.
  • Gastrointestinal Disorders – Digestive tract problems, hiccups, inflammation of the stomach, chronic duodenal ulcers, inflammation of the colon, constipation, diarrhea, dysentery caused by certain bacteria.
  • Eye Disorders – Inflammation of the conjunctiva, inflammation of the central retina, nearsightedness (in children), and uncomplicated cataracts.
  • Nervous System and Muscular Disorders – Headaches, migraines, certain facial paralysis or nerve pain, partial weakness after a stroke, inflammation of nerve endings, bed wetting, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, sciatica, low back pain, and osteoarthritis.

Acupuncture has been used for centuries in China to treat many other problems, such as knee pain, sprains and strains, and most gynecological complaints.

Auricular Acupuncture

The ear contains many points that, when stimulated by needles or seeds, can produce chemical responses in the brain and release natural pain-reducing hormones. By finding specific active points and stimulating them, biochemicals are released, decreasing pain and bringing the body back into balance. Auricular therapy can help with almost all health conditions. To stimulate these points on the ear needles, tacks or seeds can be used, depending on the comfort level.
Most commonly, 3-5 points are selected on both ears. The procedure takes a few minutes and is tolerated by most patients. Typically, the tacks and seeds will stay in for 7-10 days.

Crystal Singing Bowls

Crystal Singing Bowls have become an important tool in sound healing using vibration for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. There are different types of bowls with different purposes with various uses. They have helped in the healing of illnesses ranging from depression to cancer. The bowls vibrate with something within us & as they do bring about a state of peace & balance in us & the world around us.

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient modality that is used in traditional medicine around the world. It is a form of suction or vacuum that is placed on the skin. It draws up the tissues affecting the body up to four inches below.

Cupping therapy is the best deep tissue massage available. It increases blood flow, improves circulation, moves the lymphatic system, unbinds the chest for upper respiratory issues, clears and breaks up scar tissue, unblocks and moves the colon, and more.

It is safe for all ages. There are different levels of suction and different types of cups. Light, moderate and deep cupping refer to the amount or strength of suction used. For example, fire cupping is the strongest and is used for deep tissue work. Facial cupping is the lightest and is used for lymphatic drainage.

Electroacupuncture

Electroacupuncture is quite similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment. As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted into specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered, depending on the condition being treated. Electroacupuncture uses two needles at a time so that the impulses can pass from one needle to the other. Several pairs of needles can be stimulated simultaneously, usually for no more than 30 minutes at a time.

Emotion Code Therapy

Emotion Code is an energy healing technique that helps us to identify and release trapped emotions. Trapped emotions can cause depression, anxiety and can block people from love and happiness. It also makes them feel disconnected from others. Since trapped emotions are made of energy, just like the rest of the body, they exert an influence on the physical tissues. This can cause acute pain and disease. Releasing trapped emotions helps the body heal, so physical and emotional difficulties often disappear or become much more manageable.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha, which means “scraping sha-bruises“, is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped in a particular direction to release tissue adhesions and increase circulation. Gua Sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing. Skin is typically lubricated with massage oil and commonly a ceramic Chinese soup spoon was used, or a well worn coin, even honed animal bones, water buffalo horn, or jade.
This causes extravasating or bleeding from the peripheral capillaries and may result in subcutaneous blemishing (ecchymosis), which usually takes 2–4 days to fade. Sha rash does not represent capillary rupture (petechiae) as in bruising, as is evidenced by the immediate fading of the markings to ecchymosis, and the rapid resolution of sha as compared to bruising.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a therapy which consists of burning dried mugwort or moxa on particular points or areas of the body. Moxa is used to warm the body and build energy, especially for deficient patients. With its warming action it soothes tension, dissolves pain and increases blood flow. There are several methods of applying moxibustion based on the purposes. Sometimes moxa is used directly on the body, indirectly over the body or burned on the needle handles.

Tuning Forks

Acutonics is an integrated approach to health care grounded in Oriental medicine, psychology, science, cosmological studies and sound healing principles. This effective non-invasive methodology works with vibratory energy created through sound. The sounds of planetary bodies are brought into the clinical setting through the use of precision calibrated tuning forks. Everything in the Universe vibrates, from the smallest particle, to the planets in our solar system, to the billions of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, creating patterns of geometric waveforms, frequencies, musical intervals, and sounds. The sounds of the Universe are brought into health care through the use of precision calibrated planetary tuning forks. Acupressure points and chakras provide noninvasive access into these core energy systems within the body.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound devices use sound waves to penetrate deeply below the surface of the skin. This promotes cellular renewal and repair, tones muscles, increases blood circulation, encourages lymphatic drainage, and combats puffiness. This process is safe and painless. The amazing aspect of using ultrasound on the face is that it allows natural skin care products to penetrate even deeper, to the dermis level of the skin. It can also be utilized on most areas of the body and is especially effective with chronic issues.
